The Samsung Galaxy Chat is an interesting ensemble of functionality which delivers impressive performance and which caters for those who enjoy text based services. The unit features an 850 MHz processor combined with the ice cream sandwich version of the android operating system, all of which is contained within a unit which measures 118 mm x 59 mm wide whilst being 11 mm thick and weighing 112 g in weight.
The handset comes with a 3.0 inch TFT capacitive display screen which offers touch screen functionality in addition to impressive display options. The screen operates at a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels within which accurately displays up to 256,000 colours. A QWERTY keyboard is located underneath the main display screen which offers simple text based entry. The handset also offers the useful option of creating a Wi Fi hotspot, allowing additional devices to utilise the handsets Internet connection.
The unit also comes with a wide range of additional functions and features which include a stereo FM radio with RDS, satellite navigation which features A-GPS support as well as a snapshot style 2.0 megapixel camera which also records VGA quality video. In addition a multimedia player is provided as is a document viewer, organiser and predictive text input functionality.
